M&C Energy Group build up a detailed consumption history for all our supply sites. Can we access this information ourselves?

Yes - M&C Energy Group has developed an on-line reporting tool which can be made available to our clients if required. This reporting package lets our clients view cost/consumption data and meter data for any site along with many other useful tools which can be added as required.

We understand you can make us future savings, but can you save us money on bills we may have paid a couple of years ago?

Yes, M&C Energy Group has designed and developed its own suite of sophisticated and powerful IT systems to enable our analysts to conduct a retrospective analysis and cost auditing exercise. This identifies discrepancies quickly and allows us to pursue refund opportunities without delay. We have a very thorough approach to all billing activity, our team physically checks invoices and supplier downloads for any errors or discrepancies and actively pursue overcharges which can be backdated up to 7 years on behalf of our customers.

We have to tender for our electricity and gas contracts via the European Journal (OJEC). Can M&C Energy Group assist with this?

Yes- M&C Energy Group have experience of conducting tenders via OJEC and can arrange and manage the whole process on your behalf. This allows you to meet your tender obligations while ensuring you still benefit from a full, independent negotiations exercise carried out by industry experts. By taking advantage of M&C Energy Group's market knowledge and experience, you have the confidence that the contract(s) you ultimately accept are the most appropriate and competitive options available.

Providing copy utility invoices for M&C Energy Group's analysis can be time consuming. Why do you need them?

Because without them we are unable to clarify your charging arrangements/consumptions, and some suppliers will not provide copies directly to consultancies.  Additionally these can be sent in a way most convenient to you.

How do you validate any discrepancies, where we may have been over-charged for our water?

Where appropriate full on-site surveys are undertaken by our engineers in order to validate any charging discrepancies identified during the course of our desktop audit. In addition, the surveys are also used to determine supply and drainage arrangements, enabling us to evaluate the scope for opportunities in relation to water conservation, recycling, alternative supply and wastewater treatment/disposal.

I have heard that some companies opt for flexible electricity and/or gas contracts. What are these and can M&C Energy Group negotiate and manage them?

Yes, M&C Energy Group can manage this type of contract in the relevant markets. Flexible contracts allow customers to be responsive to market opportunities and reduce the risk of contracting at market peaks. Focusing your purchasing on the underlying 'negotiable' energy components providing complete price transparency.

How much time & resources do we as the client have to invest in the relationship?

As much or as little as you want - M&C Energy Group staff will analyse your charges & liaise with suppliers on your behalf, however they are constantly on hand to offer support & provide updates whether by phone, email, letter or in person.

How do M&C Energy Group invoice, is it on commission?

No, unlike energy brokerage companies, M&C Energy Group are completely independent of all suppliers, we do not build in any commission to the supplier's prices we present to our clients. We only take payments from monies saved for you. This means we don't get paid, if you don't make savings, this is our incentive to examine every detail of your energy cost.

There are many different companies offering similar services, how do M&C Energy Group differ?

We really are different from the other companies, in ways which are beneficial to our clients. We are an independent consultancy firm, which means we are not influenced by suppliers. Through constantly monitoring the world markets our global data analysis ensures that we really are working only with the suppliers who give us the best prices, which we can pass onto our clients.

We strive to provide market information to our clients when it happens and go beyond the average figures released so each individual site will have an indication of how such movement will impact on them. This can be useful when budgets come into play. In order to build client relations we will visit as often as possible or required. M&C Energy Group are always available to assist with any queries you might have on the energy market.

What party is responsible for the regulation of the Irish Energy Market?

The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) was set up in 1999 to promote competition while protecting the end user. It is their responsibility to evaluate any proposal put forward on new tariffs and rate changes, providing an independent forum for discussion.
